Hi everyone!!!
This week has been great, I sure am learning how to work very hard, and I’m seeing miracles all the time and it is so amazing!
One of the things that I have noticed is because of this holiday season everyone is really nice, and talkative! We were able to find a new investigator this week by street contact!!! I’m actually very scared of street contact, it’s not my thing! I’m getting used to it and actually it’s a lot more fun than getting doors shut in your face! Anyway we got lost and we were looking for a map to find the next place and we found Shirley! She is great, with red fire hair! It’s going to be amazing to start to teach her!
We had the chance to teach Ximena two times this week! Once for family home evening which turned into just preparing her for the first lesson which happened the next day at a member’s home. It was truly amazing! We talked about the restoration and at the end when we had brother Adams read the moronic promise about the book of Mormon her eyes started to tear up and said, this is what she needs to do to find out if it is true, and now she is reading everything we give her and is asking for more! She also is set for a baptismal date for Jan 25! She is a little bit skeptical but we testified about how we got our answers to the truth about this religion and she said she would try!!!! She is so golden! It’s so great!!! THIS IS WHY I AM HERE!!!!!!
We have started this new thing that we have to talk to 15 people before we can go home at night. It has made the work fun and we are talking to everyone we see. It’s just starting to get us more motivated. We are truly enjoying the work!!!
I have been feeling like I have become complacent, since I have been in the same place for so long. Not that I don’t love it here, I do, but I used to feel like I have tried everything I could and that no one was interested in learning more. That is so not true! As Sister Hiatt and I change how we do things and how we look at things the work is progressing and we are having fun and our attitudes are so much better!
We had dinner with Rose last Monday and it was wonderful. Rose is a very shy person, but she loves having us over! We had a short lesson afterwards and she told us that she is not sure if the book of Mormon is true. She has been trying to find fault with our religion and cant! She is now at full force progressing to be baptized on January 25th which is great!
One of the things I truly love about being in this area so long is I am able to see how the lord softens people’s hearts! I love to see the changes in Ximena, Rose and even Norma who was a former investigator, and now we are teaching her again, it’s so great!
Sister Hiatt and I are getting along so well! We are working very hard and we just are loving this work, it’s so nice to be with a companion that works with you and will help you change into the person you want to be!
I have been studying the Saviors birth this week in my studies. From the prophesying to the actual thing, both in the bible and in the Book of Mormon it’s been amazing!!!
We had the Christmas devotional this week! It was truly amazing; I loved all the wonderful musical numbers! It truly brought the Christmas spirit into my heart!
One more thing, it does not feel like it is Christmas in two days!!! Its sooooooo sunny and warm here, what is with that!!! This weather is not what I am used to for Christmas!
Well I love you all! I hope you ALL have a wonderful Christmas!! Thank you all for your prayers and love, I feel it every day!

Week Before Christmas
Hello everyone!
This week was really good!
Some of the highlights this week: Our investigator Ximena, who we have just been doing FHE with agreed to take the lessons! YIPPY!!! Sister Hiatt and I have been praying on how we can approach her and ask if she would like to take the lessons, and it kinda just happen! So now we are meeting with her 2 times a week, one at a member’s home for a lesson and another time at her home for FHE it’s so great! I love the spirit she brings to us!
We had a relief society dinner on Thursday and all of our female investigators came! Including a former investigator that we invited and she now wants to continue learning more!
Again it was a good week! Sister Hiatt and I are getting along very nicely we are finding new people to teach and working really, really hard!
We have been doing the 12 days of Christmas for our investigators and less actives! We printed a bunch of inspiring quotes from my mom’s package that she sent me, and on Christmas day we are going to show up to their houses with the last card and cupcakes! We think it will really strengthen the faith of the people we visit!
I can’t believe I have already been out on a mission for almost five months it is so crazy!!!
I truly, truly love this work and the spirit that is with me always!
One of my favorite things this week was on Sunday when Ximena said she loves this church and loves the spirit of this church. She said she feels so much better going to this one instead of the catholic one :).
We also met the man this week his name is Cameron, we just knocked on his door and he answered, he has friends that are Mormon so he knew who we were. We taught him the restoration right on his door step, the spirit was so strong. He did tell us that he was a waste of time, he has had a bad life so far, he made the wrong kind of choices. He is open, he listens and he felt the spirit! We gave him a book of Mormon... I don’t know why but this man and his story and how he responded and reacted to our message built my testimony so much! We asked him what he sees in his Mormon friends that is different from his other friends and he said, "they are always happy"!
It’s so true we have an amazing thing going for us! This is the true church! I know and believe this to be true, and it does bring happiness, true Happiness! I hope one day he will except the gospel into his life and be truly happy: )!
I am enjoying the Christmas season. Who wouldn’t enjoy teaching about Christ during Christmas Time? I love that my life right now is so focused on our savior and his teachings and his church.
My mom sent the 12 days of Christmas to us and it is the highlight of our evening, all four of us look forward to 9:30 we gather in the living room and read the Christmas story and the scripture and then we open the treat that goes with the story. So FUN! It brings a sweet spirit into our apartment. One of the sisters in our ward brought us a real tree with lights it’s fun to have something Christmassy around to help us remember the season.
Thank you for all your support!
I love all your letters!

Christmas Broadcast Week
Hello every one!
This week has been so good! So hard but it all turned out good!
Getting a new companion is always a change, getting to know them. Learning how to work with them, Sister Hiatt and I are working so well together it’s so great! We both want to make this area better, and to teach and baptize people here in Agoura hills! We have worked really hard this week and it has been really refreshing! She is also teaching me a lot, even though I’m done with training I feel like she has so much to teach me before I go to Brazil!
It’s going to be great transfer!
Transfer meeting was awesome! I always get so spiritually fed, Sister Castro got up there and started talking about how to fine inner peace and how as missionaries it is our job to bring that peace to people!
Being a missionary is so cool!
Sister Hiatt and I get along great!
We had an experience at church that was just awesome! One of our investigators, Ximena came to church this Sunday, and she was raised catholic, well our lesson in gospel principles was about prayer, and she had amazing questions! She loved the fact that we don’t have wrote prayers and we don’t confess our sins to a preacher, she said doing that she always felt empty and this way makes a lot more sense to her! She is progressing and Sister Hiatt and I are going to teach her again on Thursday! She and her family just have such a desire to learn! Its so fun to watch and be a part of this WORK!
We are also working way more effectively, talking to more people and looking for opportunities to teach! It’s great! I have had a really good week this week. Sister Hiatt and I got an opportunity to go to the Christmas broadcast! If you didn’t see it, you need to. Elder Nelsons talk was so awesome it brought tears to our eyes! I hope everyone gets the chance to watch it!
I Love you ALL! Enjoy the SEASON!

December already?
Hi ALL!!!!
I am doing great! I am excited to be with my new companion tomorrow and move the work forward!
It was really hard to see Sister Klemm go last Tuesday night but I know the lord wants her back at Temple Square, but before she left on Tuesday we had an awesome lesson with ximena! We taught her about prophets! Her family is so awesome! She made the most delicious cupcakes for us, it was awesome!
I love it! Being in a trio with Sister Snow and Sister Mapa was tough, but we worked out our differences and the rest of the week went pretty good, thanksgiving was great.
It’s a very different Thanksgiving here on a mission. In personal study I was able to read a bunch of scriptures about being thankful, and it really helped me get in the mood of thanksgiving. It was great to fill my heart with good messages. Right before we went to diner we got a call from Steve’s wife saying, she thinks we are nice girls, but she does not want religion to be talked about it her home, that was really hard to hear! Steve was so prepared and wanting to know more about the gospel last week! We will go back this week and see what Steve thinks, I’m just a little bummed because he was so prepared! I am learning that everything happens for a reason and I know that Steve will join the church one day!
It was really fun weekly planning for two wards both the 1st and the 2nd, I learned how much you have to coordinate and help each other out. Sunday was 6 hours of church! So amazing! Felt the spirit so much the whole day! It sure was a long fast Sunday. In second ward they had a huge member missionary meeting and it was awesome. The members are so ready to get going and inviting their friends! It is so awesome that the ward is so excited! :)
Oh my gosh I have been on a mission for 4 months! I can’t believe it so crazy! It goes by so fast!
It was a good week of new experiences and I can’t wait for this next transfer She gets here on Tuesday. I’m ready to get teaching.
Love you all…remember Jesus is the reason for this incredible season!
